Effective October 5, 2026, we’re updating our Patient Service Center hours to make lab visits more convenient. With earlier hours and added weekend availability, we hope to Make It Easy to schedule lab appointments.
In observance of Labor Day Monday, September 07, 2026 AdventHealth Lab Service Centers will be closed. We will resume regular business hours on Tuesday, September 08, 2026.
Effective July 16, 2026, the NGAL (Neutrophil Gelatinase-Associated Lipocalin), Urine (LAB0020) test was temporarily discontinued. Presently, there are concerns with NGAL, Urine quality control testing performance. Patients were not impacted. Nonetheless, out of an abundance of caution, we will not continue testing until this issue is resolved. The test will still be orderable in Epic; however, samples will be frozen until testing can resume. We will alert clinical teams when we are able to resume testing. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Beginning July 21, 2026, AdventHealth Orlando will implement the CDC-recommended reverse syphilis testing algorithm for patients older than 24 months. The DiaSorin LIAISON Treponema assay (LAB1197) will be used as the initial screening test, with reflex testing performed as indicated. Patients 24 months of age and younger will continue to be tested using the traditional syphilis algorithm (RPR LAB6791). This update aligns AdventHealth Orlando with current CDC laboratory recommendations, supports timely and accurate diagnosis of syphilis, and improves laboratory efficiency through automation.
To improve diagnostic accuracy and patient care, the Wet Prep Vaginal Test (LAB252) will be discontinued, June 30, 2026. Providers should transition to the Vaginal Pathogen DNA Panel (LAB4038), a PCR based assay that offers improved sensitivity and specificity.
